Hsinchu, Oct 25, 2011 - MTI announced today that the company was awarded the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Bureau of Foreign Trade’s first “Taiwan Green Classic Award” this year for its excellent green innovative technologies.
The Remote Radio Head (RRH) developed by MTI is a RF transceiver front end of the Distributed Base Station System. By mastering the Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) and Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) core linearization technologies and high efficiency power amplifier design, the efficiency of the overall RRH performance has reached at least 24% typical. Since base station power amplifier is the most expensive and energy-consuming equipment of the base station system, by enhancing its efficiency, system operators will be able to save electrical cost and also reduce carbon achieve energy saving and carbon reduction; Meanwhile, the reliability of the system will also be greatly improved by the reduction of heat on electrical devices, which lowers the system operators’ maintenance cost and downtime.

There were 67 companies and a total of 129 products competing for the First Annual "Taiwan Green Classic Award". After nearly two and a half months of competition, 36 products and 19 companies were awarded the honor to promote Taiwan’s effort in establishing green enterprises and products.
